A WORD FROM OUR OWNER…….7/1/13
Dear Orange Tree Members, (Step 7 Video is now posted under Greens)
I just got home to Michigan from a 3 day visit to Orange Tree, and I am very pleased with the progress made on the greens and other areas of the golf course. Our goal is to continue to provide a 'world class' venue for golf. The re-grassing project for the greens is on schedule, and our expectations are high for them to be the finest in the area once they are re-opened.
Our staff has tried to provide you with alternative golf courses in the area for you to play at reduced rates, and Rob and his crew have provided challenging temporary greens for us to play at our home course. I found them to be fun and a unique test of golf. I think moving back one or two tee boxes from where you usually play will give a little different twist to playing our gem. I promise that your wedge game will be challenged, and it will be a fun golfing experience.
When I played it from the 'Blacks', I felt it was my last chance for 'glory' for an old golfer (ha ha). It was fun though to experience different landing areas of the fairway, and I got in some great wedge work as I got closer to those small temps. I will have you know I now hold the new senior course record from back there on the temp greens! I want to hear about my 79 getting beat. In addition, we want to extend the course record holder from each tee (red, white, green, blue, and black) from July 1st to August 31st on the temporary greens, will receive (2) Free guest passes to play Orange Tree on me. Good Luck!
I personally want to thank you all for hanging in there and trusting us during this 'construction zone' time. We have done our home work exhaustively during the planning and now implementation of this project, and we anticipate a great finished product. Hopefully before we know it, we will be back open to an improved 'track' with top rated Champion Bermuda greens. We are currently on schedule for re-opening the green complexes the beginning September.
Follow along with the progress on our Maintenance blog (www.myorangetreegolfclub.com), as we are updating it with pictures, videos, and information on a regular basis (isn't Rob awesome in front of the camera? That's okay Rob, you just keep growing great grass for us out there).
Our management and staff will continue to provide you with world class service for your every need at Orange Tree.
Starting June 3rd, we will be re-grassing our greens with Champion Bermuda grass as well as re-capturing the original size of these greens from nearly fifteen years ago. Increasing the current size several feet to a few yards in perimeter on each green. Updated pictures will be posted during the process and upon completion.
